The Idea of North
THE IDEA OF NORTH Maleny Arts Council brings Australia’s leading a cappella group "The Idea of North" to Maleny and the Sunshine Coast by popular demand for one performance only. Great music, impeccably performed with creativity, passion, emotion and energy. A sound that crosses many genres - jazz, folk, pop, comedy, gospel. They're in Maleny on Sunday 8th August at 2.00pm. The Maleny Historical Society, Mens Shed and the Blackall Range Horseless Carriage Club join forces to bring you a wonderful day out at Maleny's Pioneer Village. Bryce Cottage, Priscilla Cottage and Glenferna will all be open with their marvellous displays of Maleny's past. Enjoy a tea and coffee with home made cakes, slices and more and the barbecue will be on. Entry by donation.

The Maleny Garden Club will host a Garden Market with plants & produce stalls, talks with experts, morning & afternoon teas & lunches. PLUS open gardens to visit! Sculpture, pottery and art displays will be discovered in the gardens. A hop on/hop off coach will help you get there. The Clay Workers are pleased to be participating in The Australian Ceramics Association Open Studios. The group is displaying a wide range of artistic and functional works that reflect the textures, colours and unique environment of the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The pieces are the work of diverse group of people with distinct styles and approaches, and involve a range of firing techniques as well as varied finishes, surface decoration and glazes. There is inspiring hand building and creative wheel work.
