AND THANK YOU TO THE CUSTOMERS THAT ENTERED
This promotion has been a huge Maleny event and the uptake by CBD businesses, just amazing! The winner Bev Hannam was announced at our March Breakfast held at Spicers Tamarind.
When I contacted her to tell her she had won she was over the moon. Said she never wins anything! She entered the competition once and was drawn from approximately 3000 entries. Goes to show one ticket can win!
Going forward the Chamber intends to run a year long Shop Maleny campaign attracting locals and visitors.
Some businesses approached the Chamber advising that since 2 of the banks had shut down in Maleny they noticed that some people were travelling off the range to do their banking and therefore, doing all their shopping off the range too, impacting on the local spend in town.
Hence this is why our first promotion was to entice people living in the 4552 catchments to come back into town and shop locally where they can.
Our business community attracts many visitors and tourists, so we will now expand promotion and campaign to include people living in other regions.
